YOURNEXTMAC BUYING GUIDE
Outgrowing your M2 or M3 Mac?
Choose your next MacBook Pro.
Working on an M2 or M3 MacBook with 16GB of memory or less? If your projects have grown and your Mac struggles when your everyday apps are open together, it may be time for more memory—not just a newer model name.
THE QUICK ANSWER
Same memory. Different ways to work.
Both pilot replacements offer 24GB unified memory and a 1TB SSD.
01 / YOUR MEMORY UPGRADE
More room for the work you do.
- From 8GB to 24GB: three times the memory capacity.
- From 16GB to 24GB: 50% more memory capacity.
These are capacity increases, not promises of three-times-faster or 50%-faster performance. More memory can help when your apps and projects are constrained by the memory available.
Before exchanging, check Memory Pressure in Activity Monitor while running your normal workload. Apple uses this graph to show how efficiently your memory is serving your processing needs. Slowdowns alone do not prove you need more RAM. Apple’s memory-check guide.
02 / COMPARE YOUR OPTIONS

03 / WHICH SOUNDS LIKE YOU?
Choose the 14-inch: more memory, easier to carry.
Our starting recommendation for developers and freelancers who move between home, the office and client meetings. It is approximately 540g lighter, based on Apple’s listed weights, and offers the same 24GB memory capacity as our 16-inch option.
If you already use an external monitor, the smaller laptop may be the more practical fit. You do not need to choose the larger model just to get more RAM.
Choose the 16-inch: more room for your work.
Consider it if your laptop screen is your main workspace—especially for video-editing timelines, reviewing footage, or code and reference windows side by side.
Its additional CPU and GPU cores may help software that can use them. The trade-off is a larger, heavier machine; core counts alone do not guarantee a particular speed improvement.
Brand new, factory sealed.
Both come with a one-year Apple Limited Warranty, subject to Apple’s terms and original retail purchase date. Confirm your unit’s coverage dates with sales before payment. Apple warranty terms.
YOUR NEXT STEP
Find the right exchange for your Mac.
Send your current model, RAM and storage, plus the apps you use and what feels limiting. We will help you compare both replacement options and their confirmed exchange price differences.
This is a whole-device exchange, not a RAM upgrade inside your existing Mac. Sales confirms eligibility, stock and your quote. Exchanges are by confirmed appointment in Maadi or 6th of October; exact locations are shared privately after quote acceptance.
